XChief Review 2026: Licensing, 4 Account Types and an Expanded Product Range

XChief (formerly ForexChief) is an international forex/CFD broker licensed by the Mwali International Services Authority (MISA) in Comoros and registered with South Africa’s FSCA — both Tier-3 oversight, with no investor compensation fund attached. What sets XChief apart from brokers in the same segment is an unusually wide product range, including US stock CFDs and crypto — rarely seen at a mid-sized offshore broker. This article fully breaks down the account structure, licensing, and hidden terms worth knowing before trading.

Who regulates XChief, and how much protection does that provide?

XChief operates under an MISA (Comoros) license — a Tier-3 regulator with significantly lighter capital and audit requirements than Tier-1/Tier-2 bodies like the FCA or CySEC — alongside registration with South Africa’s FSCA. No investor compensation fund (of the ICF or FSCS kind) comes with this licensing structure. This means that if a serious dispute arises, traders have to rely entirely on XChief’s own internal policy and reputation, with no independent regulator required to step in and protect customer interests.

Four account types: Cent, Classic+, DirectFX, xPRIME

Cent: an account traded in cent-denominated units, the lowest entry threshold, leverage capped at 1:500 (lower than the others) — suited to getting familiar with the platform.

Classic+: $10 minimum deposit, spread from 0.6 pips, no commission — a simple fee structure for traders moving to real trading for the first time.

DirectFX: $50 minimum deposit, tighter spreads from 0.3 pips, $2.50/lot commission per side (about $5/lot round-turn) — a middle ground between Classic+ and xPRIME.

xPRIME: $500 minimum deposit, raw spreads from 0 pips, $3/lot commission per side, no limit on the number of simultaneously open positions, and the ONLY account type with full access to 9 metals, 17 crypto CFDs, and 95 US stock CFDs — the widest product range of the four, but MT5-only, with no MT4 support.

Leverage: different between MT4 and MT5

Something few other brokers do: XChief’s maximum leverage differs by platform — up to 1:1000 on MT4, but only up to 1:400 on MT5. The Cent account specifically is capped at 1:500 regardless of platform. This is an important technical detail to consider when choosing a platform: if high leverage is your priority, MT4 offers a higher cap, but that means giving up the xPRIME account (MT5-only) and its expanded product range.

Quick cost comparison: Classic+, DirectFX, and xPRIME

For EUR/USD, assuming 1 lot traded: Classic+ (0.6-pip spread, no commission) costs about $6; DirectFX (0.3-pip spread + $5 round-turn commission) costs about $3 in spread + $5 commission = $8; xPRIME (near-zero spread + $6 round-turn commission) costs mostly commission, around $6. At this small volume, Classic+ can actually be cheaper than both commission-based accounts — the advantage of DirectFX and xPRIME only shows up clearly once trading volume increases significantly, where the percentage saved from low spreads outweighs the extra fixed commission.

Trading platforms

XChief supports MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, and its own xChief App. How accounts are distributed by platform (xPRIME on MT5 only, the other three on both MT4/MT5) is worth weighing carefully before choosing your main trading platform, since switching between account types may mean getting used to a different platform interface.

Why does xPRIME’s wide product range stand out?

Most mid-sized offshore brokers focus mainly on forex, metals, and a handful of indices — offering a full 95 US stock CFDs and 17 crypto CFDs on the same account is a substantive difference, not just marketing. This lets traders build a diversified strategy (e.g., combining short-term forex with longer-term stock CFD positions) without opening accounts at multiple brokers. That said, note that stock CFDs and crypto CFDs are derivative products, not real asset ownership — you don’t actually own company shares or the cryptocurrency itself, you’re only betting on their price movement through a contract for difference.

Deposit currencies and customer support

XChief supports deposits in several currencies including USD, CHF, GBP, EUR, JPY, and RUB — fairly diverse compared with many offshore brokers that only support USD. This reduces currency-conversion fees for traders with bank accounts in these currencies, though Vietnamese traders will typically still convert through USD since VND isn’t on the directly supported list. For customer support, XChief offers standard live chat and email support — response quality should be tested yourself with a few sample questions before depositing a large amount.

Strengths and things to watch out for

Strengths of XChief: an unusually wide product range on xPRIME (US stocks, multiple crypto types), no limit on open positions on xPRIME, and relatively fast withdrawal processing compared with many other offshore brokers. Things to watch out for: only Tier-3 licensing, no compensation fund, leverage differing by platform can be confusing, and, as covered in detail in our fee article, XChief charges an inactivity fee — a cost not every broker applies.

Quick comparison with other Tier-3 brokers in this group

Compared with Weltrade and Valetax — two other Tier-3 brokers analyzed previously — XChief’s withdrawal processing is rated relatively faster (24-48 hours versus 3-5 days at some other offshore brokers), but it does have a fee neither Weltrade nor Valetax applies: an account inactivity fee. This is a concrete example of why you shouldn’t compare Tier-3 brokers on a single metric (like withdrawal speed) while ignoring other hidden fee terms that can affect an account long-term.

Frequently asked questions about XChief

Which account should you start with? Cent or Classic+ are sensible starting points — Cent for an extremely small budget, Classic+ for traders ready to trade real money with a simple cost structure.

Is xPRIME worth using from the start? Only consider it once you have experience and genuinely need to trade US stocks or a diverse range of crypto CFDs — with a $500 minimum deposit and MT5-only support, this isn’t a starting point for beginners.

Why does leverage differ between MT4 and MT5? This is typically an internal risk-management decision by the broker — MT5 has a different legal and technical risk architecture from MT4 at some brokers, leading to different leverage caps by platform, not a technical bug.

Can you actually trade real US stocks at XChief? Not in the sense of owning real shares — you trade CFDs (contracts for difference) based on stock price movement, without receiving dividends or voting rights like an actual shareholder. This is a speculative price tool, not asset-ownership investing. Traders interested in actually owning shares and receiving dividends should look to a traditional stockbroker instead of a CFD broker like XChief, since the purpose and legal structure of these two product types are entirely different despite both referencing stock prices.

Does the Cent account limit which products you can trade? Yes — the Cent account is usually limited to basic currency pairs, without access to the expanded product range (stocks, multiple crypto types) exclusive to xPRIME.

Is there an Islamic (swap-free) account? Yes — XChief offers an Islamic account option on Classic+, DirectFX, and xPRIME, removing overnight swap fees to comply with Islamic finance principles, though other costs (spread, commission if any) still apply normally. An Islamic account is often useful not just for Muslim traders but for anyone running a long-term holding strategy who wants to remove the swap-fee variable entirely from their cost calculations when planning long-term trades.

Looking for a broker with a diverse product range including both US stocks and crypto? XChief’s xPRIME account offers the widest access among brokers in the same segment.

XChief currently has a welcome offer for new accounts for a limited time — terms may change, check directly when you register.
